Event Details

Step into the late 1990s and immerse yourself in a full-throttle exploration of life that will leave you on the edge of your seat.

This month's film, Fight Club, directed by David Fincher and starring Brad Pitt and Edward Norton, is a tantalising exploration of male identity, therapy culture, and violence, based on Chuck Palahniuk's 1996 novel.

The main character, an insomniac played by Edward Norton, is unsatisfied with his work, home, and life and struggles to find meaning in his mundane existence. However, a fateful encounter with the mysterious and anarchic Tyler Durden (Brad Pitt) changes things, and the pair finds an escape through bare-knuckle brawls in an underground alliance of men known as Fight Club.

As the club grows, the protagonist struggles to maintain control, and Tyler's real agenda is called into question. Meanwhile, a woman named Marla Singer (Helena Bonham-Carter) has a role to play in the unfolding events.

Film screenings take place at The Sydenham Centre, 44a Sydenham Road, SE26 5QX. Doors open 7pm, Film Screening starts 7.30pm. Seating is unallocated.
